Method & sources

Gross wall area = 2 × (length + width) × height. Net area = gross area − openings. Litres = net area × coats ÷ coverage per litre per coat.

This formula covers four walls of a rectangular room at one height. Ceiling, trim, primer, texture and can sizes are not included.
