Formulas

Paint: gross area = 2 × (length + width) × height; net area = gross area − openings; litres = net area × coats ÷ coverage. Tile: order area = surface × (1 + allowance/100); boxes = round up order area ÷ coverage per box.

Assumptions

The paint tool assumes four walls of a rectangle at one height. The tile tool uses your entered area, not a tile-layout simulation. Users provide product coverage and allowance. Prices, labour, taxes, primer and paint-can sizes are excluded.
